Dear ZANC Members,
You are reminded that ZANC’s Annual meeting will be held on Sunday, February 18th
at 1.30 p.m. at the San Jose Daremehr.
A biryani lunch will be served following our Sunday school on the same day.
The Adult Discussion group will be featuring our special speaker - Dr. Ardeshir Damania , who will be giving us a slide lecture on
“Zarathushtis in Iran after the Arab invasion - How they kept the faith “
We hope you will attend in large numbers and encourage everyone to come.
There will be a pot-luck lunch, Biryani will be provided by the Board, please bring any
suitable accompaniments or dessert.
We will be grateful if you let us know, whether you will be there, so we can have enough
biryani for all.

Greatest Discovery
Take away fire and man (stands for both the genders) will revert to wilderness like any other animal! The greatest discovery made by man alone on this good earth is the art of making and maintaining fire. He, like any other animal, had seen fire striking from clouds, devouring bushes and trees, and devastating large tracts of green land. He had also seen fire being spewed by a volcano and the molten lava snaking and snarling its way down the slopes. He also knew it gave heat and scared ferocious animals. Though still not proven, but most probably he had learned how to keep it burning. It provided him and his associates with light, warmth, and a device to keep ferocious animals away. Their exchange and trade is strictly prohibited between countries and is also banned according to (CITES). This however, excludes zoos and safaris as they are meant to conserve the species. ...
Karachi: It has been almost six months since the death of “Anarkali,” who passed away on July17, 2006, and the Karachi Zoo still remains without an elephant, which is considered as a major source of attraction at any zoo. Anarkali the elephant was the heart of the zoo and there has, to-date, been no replacement after her death.
