IMPACT in Toronto
Based on the success of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra at the Seventh World Zoroastrian Congress in Houston, December 2000 and the North American Zoroastrian Congress in Chicago 2002, we invite you to be part of the ZSO that will perform at the Zoroastrian Congress in Toronto on July 1, 2007. Professionals as well as amateur musicians of all ages who have attained a sufficient level of proficiency to perform in a symphonic setting are invited to apply. Participating musicians must be in Toronto at least two-three days before for intensive rehearsals. The repertoire will be chosen by our artistic director, and the music will be sent several months in advance. All participants are expected to have become proficient with the repertoire prior to the conference. If there is a concentration of musicians in a particular metropolitan area, they will be encouraged to have their own sectional rehearsals in advance of the main rehearsals in Toronto.
We invite those who performed in the prior two concerts, and other musicians, to participate in the orchestra. Soloists who have attained concerto performance level can be showcased alongside the Zoroastrian Orchestra. Composers who wish to have their works showcased are also invited to apply; ditto for conductors. Please e-mail your request for an application to zoroastrian_congress@hotmail.com. If you have already participated as a member of the ZSO in Houston or Chicago, sent an application previously, or spoken to one of us about your interest, there is no need to complete another application but please do confirm your intent. The orchestral efforts in Houston and Chicago were very well received and got wonderful reviews in the press. We hope to continue to enhance the standards of the orchestra and enlarge it.
