Kurdestan province, located in western Iran, abounds with beauty and diversity which strikes any tourist or nature lover visiting the region.
The mountainous area, which is home to various types of animals and plants, has striking landscapes. Kurdestan province is cool in spring and summer while in winter it is cold and freezing, reported the Persian daily ?Iran?.
Oraman, or Huraman as it is known locally, is a vast area located in the south of the province and is one of the regions known for salubrious climate. It is a mountainous area with unusual features which can attract foreign and Iranian tourists.
Some of the attractions of Huraman include Darband-e Dezli with its heights and green slopes, Melour Cascade as well as stone architecture of village abodes.
One of the villages is Oraman-Takht Village in Sarvabad, which is bounded by Koumalan Heights in the east. Architecture of the village is like a staircase on a steep slope and the rooftop of the lower house serves as a courtyard for the upper one.
The houses are made of bricks and arranged artistically without using mortar.
The main construction materials in the village are stone and wood.
Since Oraman-Takht was home to command centers of local kings, the village has been named Takht, meaning capital of sovereignty.

Based on a census conducted in 2006, the population of the village was 2,800. The villagers are mainly involved in agriculture, gardening and animal husbandry while the major crops in the region are wheat, barley and lentils.

Giveh, a kind of cotton shoes, wooden spoons and forks, basket and wooden doors and windows are among the handicrafts of the villagers. Oramanis wear local clothes with beautiful designs and colors.
