On 26th January, 2008, the 4th Annual Prize Distribution Day for the Parsi students of Navsari was organised by the W.Z.O. Trust Funds. This occasion was celebrated with great pomp and delight.

The President of the function, Vada Dasturji Saheb Meherji Kaikobad Meherji Rana and Mrs. Meherji Rana made the function grand by their august presence. Dr. Zubin K. Saklat of D. N. Mehta Hospital and another young and dynamic doctor, Dr. Hormazd Sadri and Mr. Hoshang Moghal, the Principal of B. P. Baria Science College were the Guests of Honour. They were welcomed by Mr. Cyrus Vandriwala, Mr. Mehernosh Patel, Mr. Mehernosh Avari, Mrs. Gulshan Vandriwala and others.

At the beginning of the function, 33 Parsi children were felicitated for taking part in ZOCHILD. Miss Vahabiz Billimoria was specially felicitated by Vada Dasturji Saheb for her brilliant choreography for the ‘Remix Dance’ performed on the ‘ZOCHILD Day’. Moreover, the students who have brought pride to the community by their achievements in various fields were also felicitated with generous gifts. The speech by Vada Dasturji Saheb was very inspiring. He praised Bachi and Dinshaw Tamboly for encouraging the students and also praised their generosity for organising such events. Later, Dr. Zubin Saklat in his short and sweet speech, advised the students to become highly qualified personalities and also be useful to the community.

The Principal of B.P. Baria Science College, Mr. Hoshang Moghal, in flawless gujarati, gave an inspiring speech and stressed on the students to set for themselves a goal and strive to achieve it. 55 tiny tots of Nursery, Jr. K. G. and Sr. K. G. were called on the stage and given beautiful gifts. Scholars from Ist to XIIth stds. of both Gujarati and English medium were given cash prizes according to their performance (3 prizes were given in this category).

Students, who are natives of Navsari but studying in other cities were also given prizes. Moreover, each and every student was given snacks and gifts. The Principals of other schools, Mr. Neville Wadia, Mr. Bomi Jagirdar, Mrs. Shirin Wadia, Ms. Shenaz Todiwala were also warmly welcomed. Mrs. Pauruchisti Kadodwala thanked Mr. Barjish Bamji, the Superintendent of Bai Dosibai Kotwal Boys’ Orphanage and his boys for being helping throughout. Moreover, she also thanked the trustees of Jamshed Baug and Mrs. Nilufer Mandviwala, Manager of Jamshed Baug, for her kind cooperation.
