Zoroastrian Association of Houston & Zoroastrian Association of North Texas in co-operation with FEZANA - Khorshed Jungalwala Lecture Series present Zoroastrianism: Rock, Paper & Spirituality

Dr. Almut Hintze: SOAS, University of London, UK - Khorshed Jungalwala Lecture Series Speaker. Prof. Almut Hintze holds degrees from the Universities of Heidelberg, Oxford, Erlangen and Berlin. After teaching and researching for six years as Assistant Professor at the Free University of Berlin, she was Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (1996) and a Research Fellow at Clare Hall College, Cambridge (1997-2000). From 1998, she has lectured on Zoroastrianism at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where she was appointed Zartoshty Brothers Lecturer in Zoroastrianism in 2000.

Dr. Jennifer Rose: Associate Professor, Claremont Graduate University, Visiting Associate Professor, Stanford University. Jenny Rose is a historian of religion, with a particular interest in Zoroastrian Studies. She has an MA in Religious Studies from the University of London, where she studied with the late Prof. Mary Boyce. The focus of her MA thesis was the role of women in the Indian and Iranian Zoroastrian communities. In 1993, Jenny received her Ph.D. from Columbia University. An abbreviated version of her dissertation was published in 2000 under the title: The Image of Zoroaster: the Persian Mage through European Eyes.

Dr. Matthew Stolper: Professor of Assyriology and the John A. Wilson Professor of Oriental Studies in the Oriental Institute Matthew W. Stolper has worked primarily on Achaemenid Babylonian texts and secondarily on Elamite history and texts. His work on Babylonia when it was a province of the Achaemenid Persian Empire mostly treats legal and administrative texts as evidence of social, economic and political history c. 450-300 B.C. He has a BA from Harvard College, and a MA from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan in 1967 and a Ph.D. from the Near Eastern Studies, University of Michigan 1974.
