The Bombay High Court on Tuesday directed the Parsi Punchayet to file an affidavit stating the number of flats under its control that are available for allotment to poor Parsis.
The Punchayet, one of the richest trusts in the city, controls vast properties and Parsi baugs across the city and one of its functions is to allot flats to needy Parsis.

Girls Helping Girls College Scholarship Art Contest
(Open through 13 May 2009)
Girls Helping Girls’ Fund-for-Respect Program is organizing a “Mirror, Mirror” art and multimedia contest to empower girls to redefine “real beauty” and widen their perspectives on beauty. Girls aged 11-19 can submit a visual, literature, or video piece responding to the question, “Who is the most beautiful woman to you?” All entries must fall into the categories of literature (poem, short essay, song, etc.), visual art (painting, sketch, photography, etc.) or video, and must be received by May 13. The winners in each of the three categories will receive a $500 scholarship and publicity.

Dollars for Change Service-Learning Grants
(Open through 30 April 2009)
(Applicants in USA and selected provinces in Canada)
Youth Service America’s (YSA), YSA’s National Youth Council (NYC) and State Farm Companies Foundation offer Dollars for Change Grants, as part of YSA’s Global Youth Service Grants. YSA’s NYC will select the grantees: youth ages 12-25 who will collaborate with a teacher or service-learning coordinator.
