نشست سالیانه کنکاش موبدان آمریکای شمالی

نشست ساليانه‌ي كنكاش موبدان آمريكاي شمالي(NAMC) يازدهم آوريل 2009 (22فروردين‌ماه 1388) در هيوستون آمريكا برگزار مي‌شود.
موضوع اصلي اين نشست كه در مركز ميراث فرهنگي زرتشتيان(ZHCC) برگزار خواهد شد، گذري بر نوشتارهاو نامه‌هاي ديني زرتشتيان خواهدشد.
نخستين سخنران اين همايش، سروش منك‌شاه، فرنشين(:رييس) انجمن زرتشتيان هيوستون پيرامون نيايش‌هاي زرتشتيان به سخنراني مي‌پردازد.
جهان‌ باگلي، ديگر سخنران اين همايش خواهد بود كه پيرامون «يسنا» چرايي و چگونگي سرايش آن سخنراني خواهدكرد.
«ويسپرد»، «شش چهره‌ي گهنبار» و «نبر» موضوعات ديگري هستند كه در مقاله‌هاي ارواد سولي به آنها پرداخته‌مي‌شود.
موبدان آمريكاي شمالي براي شركت در اين نشست يك‌روزه دعوت شده‌اند.

ZSBC Youth Committee Election Results

Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia (ZSBC) youth committee election was held as scheduled on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Arbab Rostam Guiv Dare Mehr in city of Burnbay, Canada.

After the election, following youth members were elected as the youth committee officers:

- Bahman Sotoodian (President)
- Shahriar Khosraviani (Secretary)
- Shahin Shaeidaei (Treasurer)

Candidates of youth committee seeking positions on the board need to be ZSBC members and 19 to 31 years of age.

Toronto Zoroastrians Celebrated Mehrgan

Zoroastrians in Toronto area gathered at Arbab Rostam Guiv Dare Mehr and celebrated Mehrgan. The event was organized by Zoroastrian Society of Ontario (ZSO) with help from the Kanoun Council.

ZSO’s Mehrgan program included prayers, speech on the significance of Mehrgan by Mr. Bahram Bahrami, choir group performance and various other entertaining programs. After the programs everyone met each other and exchanged greeting before dancing away to the tune of the group “Faryad”.

The event started off with prayers by Mobed Mehbad Dastur.

Avesta class kids performed verses of Gatha in Farsi and English.

Choir group headed by Mr. Sharam Bastani performed 4 songs including “Pire Sabze Chak Chaku”.

The comedy play was done completely by the youths. It was directed by Mahshad Khosraviani and consisted of 3 scenes which were performed in between the other programs

The MC’s entertained the audience with their jokes and kept the whole evening full of life.

Sports Night in Toronto,Canada Attracted Zoroastrians of All Ages

“Zoroastrians of all ages attended the latest Sports Night event held by the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario (ZSO) on September 13, 2008″, Mehrzad Dehmiri, member of ZSO-Kanoun, told WZNN. The program included games (such as table tennis, cards and carrom), dinner (courtesy of Aban Vazir) and dancing (DJ’ed by Mehrzad Dehmiri).
Mobed Kerman Katrak the organizer of the “Sports Nights” told WZNN that the program is a series of monthly gatherings aimed at bringing the Zoroastrian community especially the youth together and providing them with the opportunity to socialize and make new friends. It has started off over three years ago by the sports sub-committee of ZSO and under the leadership of Mobed Kerman Katrak. Since its beginning, the program has been successful in attracting Zoroastrians of all ages who come from all corners of the city and also from USA.

Health Care Areas Were Discussed by Zoroastrians in Vancouver

Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia (ZSBC) held a health care seminar on Sept. 21 in Arbab Rostam Guiv Dar e Mehr in Vancouver,Canada.

The seminar was aimed at the students and individuals who seek to work in a health profession. “The professionals who gave speech in this 90 minute seminar gave over their viewes on university application process to Medical/Dental and Pharmacy fields and further explained what to expect after graduation, and salary wise” Hooman Abtin, the seminar organizer, told WZNN. “We will hold professional seminars in different fileds in future” he added.
Houman Abtin, Rashin Mondegarian, Nahid Mehraein and Mehraban Poulad gave speech on health care topics such as dentistry, pharmacy and medicine.

سمینار آشنایی با رشته های مرتبط با پزشکی در ونکوور کانادا

انجمن زرتشتیان بریتیش کلمبیا در تاریخ 21 سپتامبر 2008 برابر با 31 شهریور 1387 سمیناری 90 دقیقه ای به همراه پرسش و پاسخ با موضوع سلامتی و با هدف آشنایی علاقمندان و دانشجویانی که قصد فعالیت حرفه ای در این شاخه را دارند در محل درب مهر این انجمن در ونکوور برگزار کرد.
بنا بر برنامه اعلام شده در این سمینار هومن آبتین، راشین ماندگاریان، ناهید مهرآیین و مهربان پولاد به بحث در زمینه های مختلف دندانپزشکی، داروسازی، ژنتیک و بیولوژی سلولی پرداختند. سخنرانان در این سمینار همچنبن به بیان دیدگاه های خود درباره فرآیند اقدام به پذیرش دانشگاه ها در رشته های پزشکی، دندانپزشکی و دارو سازی ، میزان درآمد و آنچه پس از فارغ التحصیلی می بایست انتظار داشت پرداختند.

هومن آبتین، هماهنگ کننده این سمینار، به خبرنگار ما اشاره کرد که در آینده سمینار های حرفه ای در شاخه های دیگر نیز توسط این انجمن برگزار خواهد شد.

برگزاری گهنبار توسط زرتشتیان خارج از کشور

سازمان‌ زرتشتیان بخش‌های گوناگون آمریكاو كانادا،‌ ١٣ و14 سپتامبر (23و 24شهریورماه) آیین گهنبار را برگزار می‌كنند.
به گزارش تارنمای www.wznn.net، انجمن زرتشتیان آنتاریو، گهنبار تابستانی امسال را در «در‌مهر تورنتو» برگزار می‌كند. این برنامه ساعت ١١ بامداد روز یكشنبه ١٤ سپتامبر با اوستاخوانی و سخنرانی موبد كرمان كاترك آغاز می‌شود و در پایان از باشندگان با ناهار ایرانی و دسر پذیرایی خواهد شد.
از میان دیگر زرتشتیان خارج از ایران، انجمن زرتشتیان کالیفرنیای شمالی، گهنبار چهره‌ی پیته‌شهیم‌گاه را روز شنبه ١٣ سپتامبر(23شهریورماه) با برپایی گاتهاخوانی ساعت 10 بامداد در «در مهر رستم و مروارید» سن‌خوزه برگزار می‌كند.
زرتشتیان كالیفرنیا، نیز آیین گهنبار چهره‌ی پته‌شهیم‌گاه را روز یكشنبه ١٤ سپتامبر(24 شهریورماه) در« تالار مروارید» در مینیسترغربی جشن می‌گیرند.

معرفي مراکز زرتشتيان

سي دي معرفي مراکز زرتشتيان جهان از سوي گروه فرهنگي و هنري پاسارگاد توليد شد.

فرهود رشيدي مدير عامل اين گروه در اين خصوص گفت:”هدف از ساخت اين مجموعه آموزشي معرفي نقاط زرتشتي نشين ايران و هندوستان است. مراکز زرتشتي نشين با نقشه هاي توپوگرافي به همراه پيشينه آن نيز معرفي شده است.”

وي اظهار اميدواري کرد که ساير مراکز زرتشتي نشين واقع در امريکا و اروپا در محصول بعدي گروه پاسارگاد معرفي شود.

Zoroastrians sport events in Canada and Australia

The Australian Zoroastrian Association is going to hold a Table Tennis Tournament on Sunday Sep. 14 from 9AM to 3:30PM. According the management committee the tournament will be held in the Thornleigh Stadium and has been organized in different single/double and men/ladies groups.

Zoroastrian Society in Toronto-Ontario is also going to hold a sports night event on Saturday Sep 13 in Arbab Rostam Giv Darb Mehr in Toronto. The sports event will start at 4PM with table tennis, carrom, cards,… and will continue until 8PM. After having dinner, people will participate in entertainment programs i.e. a talent show followed by music and dance until midnight. According to Moobed Kerman Katrak the organizer of this event, sport nights at Toronto Darb Mehr is an excellent opportunity for the Zoroastrians to socialize and meet new friends.

Gahanbar Ceremonies in Toronto, San Jose and Westminster

Different Zoroastrian organizations in different parts of the world are going to celebrate Gahanbar on the weekend of September 13-14 , 2008.

Zoroastrian Society of Ontario is going to hold Fasli Gahanbar at the Zoroastrian Darbe Mehr in Toronto-Canada. The program starts at 11AM on Sunday September 14,2008 and will continue with prayers and speech (Moobed Kerman Katrak). Persian Lunch and dessert will be served at the end.

In Northern California, Zoroastrian Society is going to celebrate Gahanbar Payteh Shahamgah on Saturday September 13, 2008. This event will be held in Rostam and Morvarid Guiv Dar-e-Mehr in San Jose and will start at 10AM by Avesta recitation

California Zoroastrian Center is also celebrating Gahanbar Payteh Shahamgah on Sunday Sep 14 at 11AM in Morvarid Hall in Westminster. The Gahanbar will be followed by traditional Gahanbar lunch.

Zoroastrians sports day in Vancouver-Canada

Zoroastrians of Vancouver-British Columbia are going to hold the annual sports day on Sunday, September 7th at “Mahon Park” in North Vancouver. The event is organized by Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia in Vancouver.

After final registration, games will begin at 10:30. The event includes boys/girls 100m and 400m race, boys/girls Shot Putt, men’s/women’s 400m race, mixed open 1 mile race and 4×100 meters relay race.

Prize distribution is scheduled to be at 2:30PM, and all children participating in sports events under the age of 10 will receive a free gift.

Ontario Zoroastrian Community Foundation (OZCF) in Canada announced that its annual general meeting will be held on September 7th, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Zoroastrian Religious and Cultural Centre in Ontario-Canada

The agenda includes president’s and treasurer’s Reports, approval of the financial statements and election of Board of Directors for 2008 to 2010

In order to be a able to vote, membership fees for 2008 must be paid in full at least one hour prior to the start time of the meeting
