Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia (ZSBC) held a health care seminar on Sept. 21 in Arbab Rostam Guiv Dar e Mehr in Vancouver,Canada.
The seminar was aimed at the students and individuals who seek to work in a health profession. “The professionals who gave speech in this 90 minute seminar gave over their viewes on university application process to Medical/Dental and Pharmacy fields and further explained what to expect after graduation, and salary wise” Hooman Abtin, the seminar organizer, told WZNN. “We will hold professional seminars in different fileds in future” he added.
Houman Abtin, Rashin Mondegarian, Nahid Mehraein and Mehraban Poulad gave speech on health care topics such as dentistry, pharmacy and medicine.

The Australian Zoroastrian Association is going to hold a Table Tennis Tournament on Sunday Sep. 14 from 9AM to 3:30PM. According the management committee the tournament will be held in the Thornleigh Stadium and has been organized in different single/double and men/ladies groups.
Zoroastrian Society in Toronto-Ontario is also going to hold a sports night event on Saturday Sep 13 in Arbab Rostam Giv Darb Mehr in Toronto. The sports event will start at 4PM with table tennis, carrom, cards,… and will continue until 8PM. After having dinner, people will participate in entertainment programs i.e. a talent show followed by music and dance until midnight. According to Moobed Kerman Katrak the organizer of this event, sport nights at Toronto Darb Mehr is an excellent opportunity for the Zoroastrians to socialize and meet new friends.

Different Zoroastrian organizations in different parts of the world are going to celebrate Gahanbar on the weekend of September 13-14 , 2008.
Zoroastrian Society of Ontario is going to hold Fasli Gahanbar at the Zoroastrian Darbe Mehr in Toronto-Canada. The program starts at 11AM on Sunday September 14,2008 and will continue with prayers and speech (Moobed Kerman Katrak). Persian Lunch and dessert will be served at the end.
In Northern California, Zoroastrian Society is going to celebrate Gahanbar Payteh Shahamgah on Saturday September 13, 2008. This event will be held in Rostam and Morvarid Guiv Dar-e-Mehr in San Jose and will start at 10AM by Avesta recitation
California Zoroastrian Center is also celebrating Gahanbar Payteh Shahamgah on Sunday Sep 14 at 11AM in Morvarid Hall in Westminster. The Gahanbar will be followed by traditional Gahanbar lunch.

Zoroastrians of Vancouver-British Columbia are going to hold the annual sports day on Sunday, September 7th at “Mahon Park” in North Vancouver. The event is organized by Zoroastrian Society of British Columbia in Vancouver.
After final registration, games will begin at 10:30. The event includes boys/girls 100m and 400m race, boys/girls Shot Putt, men’s/women’s 400m race, mixed open 1 mile race and 4×100 meters relay race.
Prize distribution is scheduled to be at 2:30PM, and all children participating in sports events under the age of 10 will receive a free gift.

Ontario Zoroastrian Community Foundation (OZCF) in Canada announced that its annual general meeting will be held on September 7th, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Zoroastrian Religious and Cultural Centre in Ontario-Canada
The agenda includes president’s and treasurer’s Reports, approval of the financial statements and election of Board of Directors for 2008 to 2010
In order to be a able to vote, membership fees for 2008 must be paid in full at least one hour prior to the start time of the meeting
